Raising money for both "Daniel's Helping Hands" and the MADCAP Trust, David is planning to lose 5 stone in weight from his chubby hide. You can help by sponsoring him, and following his progress on this webpage - if it looks like he's slipping, then you can give him a motivational ding across the ear!

Weekly Report:
Monday 7 December
First week of maintenance - and I stayed the same! There you go - does what it says on the tin.
Monday 30 November
Ha ha ha ha ha ha! Apparently different scales MAY WELL have made a difference! I'm pleased to say I lost 7lbs this week - tipping me over the target of 5 stones by 1lb! On to maintenance until the New Year (Director doesn't want me losing any more before I become the Dame in panto, and losing weight over Christmas is an exercise in futility anyway!). Thanks for all your support! I suspect my reports will go down to fortnightly at best whilst maintaining - unless it all goes badly wrong and I need to start checking in again...
Monday 23 November
Rats - stayed the same! That said, I was taken out this weekend for my birthday (a week early) and I did eat a regular meal (and ice cream at the theatre!). I also got weighed on different scales - would that make a difference?
Monday 16 November
4lbs gone - 6lbs to go! Hopefully by the end of the month... At least I can go on maintenance for Christmas which will technically be AT LEAST one more roast potato!
Monday 9 November
Another 3lbs down, and the target is in sight! Just 10lbs to go - should have it down in four weeks max. If you haven't sponsored me yet, there's still time...
Monday 2 November
5lbs off this week so something was fishy last week! I've had a lot of exercise this week as Hallowe'en is a busy acting week for me! Puts me over the 4 stone marker!
Monday 26 October
Wasn't feeling too well this week, and had to weigh in at Tesco much earlier than usual. Shouldn't have too big an impact, but I only lost 1lb this week.
Monday 19 October
Another 3lbs - and I'm assuming that the short sleeve shirt helped on the weighing scales! I'm wearing an XXL shirt today, which might sound a lot but as I started this diet wearing 4XL I think it's an achievement! That said, I went clothes shopping today and discovered the XXL of some stores take my stomach into account and some do not! Guess I'll be sticking to M&S and BHS for a while at least...
Monday 12 October
3lbs shed again. Hopefully I'll hit the four stone marker within three weeks! I just spent the weekend with the world's largest pan of curried vegetables - which I used to keep the calories at bay until I went to Red Hot World Buffet on Saturday night! Luckily Red Hot had a lot of low fat and low calorie options available on their salad bar so I contented myself with that - six months earlier and I'd have been setting up camp in the Chinese finger food bit!
Monday 5 October
3lbs loss - not sure what I expected, I've been doing way more physical activity this week but have also eaten a bit more than usual! Thinking I was wearing a particularly heavy tie too this week...
Monday 28 September
Another 4lbs - and that's the three stone marker reached! Still not bored, and almost enthused in my push for the next two stones!
Monday 21 September
5lbs off this week - and I promise that I'm not starving myself! Cut out a lot of carbohydrates, still drinking water - and can honestly say that I'm not missing chocolate and cakes at all. Can't stay the same about Malted Milk biscuits, but I haven't wobbled yet!
I find myself standing in Tesco for ages, now, working out what to have for lunch. I almost have arguments with the packaging, daring it to justify it's calories to me...
Monday 14 September
3lbs more disappearing into the ether... I even managed to have a BBQ in frankly the coldest weekend for months! If you swap sausages for their Quorn variants and trade burgers for salmon burgers you can make your plate seem fuller without overloading the fat content - and discovering the joys of peanut sauce (just a little has a big impact on flavour!) means I'm in hog heaven.
Still just drinking water, and I have to say I don't miss the tea or coffee. My sleep pattern has also improved and I can go from midnight to 6am without waking up - 3 year-old permitting!
Monday 7 September
Things are still going well - lost another 4lbs this week, and even managed to sneak an Indian meal into the equation! I used to have Chicken Passanda but if you stay away from the creamy dishes you can stay on the right side of naughty, so I had a Chicken Shashlik with Steamed Rice (and a forkful or two of Bombay Aloo). It's amazing how quickly you can adapt to a water-only drinks plan too - don't even think about tea or coffee any more. Just as well, because after tea or coffee a Malted Milk can only be a short distance away...
Monday 31 August
Didn't get to weigh in this week! Always do it at the same-ish time and very definitely in the same place (Wolverton Tesco) - but shorter Bank Holiday hours meant I couldn't get there in time! Rest assured, I've continued to be a good boy.
Monday 24 August
Okay - either the scales were faulty last week or they've gone wrong this week! A loss of 10lb - again, not really done much different (other than eaten more carrot sticks than I care to count!).
Still haven't lost interest in the diet so that's a plus - almost 40% there on my 5 stone target!
Monday 17 August
Hmmm... my first disappointment. Haven't done anything different, other than added a daily walk to the routine. What could it be that made my weight stay the same? Is it the diving boots I was wearing when I stood on the scales?
Short entry this week - I'm going to sulk.
Monday 10 August
I've finally gotten my sponsor form together - and thanks to all of you that have sponsored me so far! I can't use sites like JustGiving at present as my two nominated charities aren't on the site and it would cost them £15 each a month to be, so over the six months I plan to do this it would cost them £180 in admin - and my sponsor money need to get a better ROI than that!
If you want to sponsor me then email david@davidlovesy.co.uk and I'll make it easy for you!
I am exercising more now, possibly not eating quite enough but I will reintegrate some foodstuffs when I've gotten the hang of the physical activity. Going to get my hair cut later today - that must shave off some precious ounces?
Monday 3 August
Not bored yet - this cutting out the bad stuff isn't as difficult as I thought it would be as I've rediscovered my love of fruit. Not that I didn't eat fruit before - I did, regularly - but as part of a bigger recipe known as a "Double Decker".
Exercise is coming on - my brain will still endeavour to find all manner of reasons to avoid it but this weekend I learned how to play Croquet, rediscovered my Badminton abilities and was able to swim some lengths of the pool without having to keep my three year old daughter amused in the water.
Monday 27 July
It's been an interesting week - I've stuck to my eating plan but have also evaded any kind of exercise. In a "best of intentions but little delivery" I did buy the new "Wii Sports Resort with motion sensor plus™" in a bid to get the heart pumping, but little did I figure on not getting near the Nintendo whilst my youngest child plays Lego Batman... it will again be mine, oh yes - it will be mine.
Many thanks to Screenetics, who supported my endeavour by donating a medical screening before my diet began to make sure I could survive a week without three hundred Jaffa cakes - apparently I can!
Why not give your body an MOT - it's a fascinating process and can give you some real pointers about easy lifestyle changes that can reap big rewards!
