  1. An event known as the Great Linford Waterside Festival will be organised and staged annually for up to 3 days.
  2. The event will be organised by a committee of volunteers and professionals and tap into various additional expertise as required.
  3. The committee will be known as the Great Linford Waterside Festival Committee
  4. The Great Linford Waterside Festival Committee will be made up of:
    - 3 elected members - Chair, Treasurer and Secretary
    - Members with responsibility - coordinate key areas of the festival, entertainment, vendors, staging etc
    - Supporting members - without a key coordinating role but supporting member with responsibility.
  5. The Chair will coordinate committee meetings and should not necessarily have a key coordinating role for areas of the festival.
  6. Finances will be conducted by the treasurer in line with the finance procedure and a regular report made at Committee meetings.
  7. The Secretary is responsible for taking minutes and circulating these at least one week prior to meetings.
  8. The Committee will meet as necessary and call an Annual General Meeting with 21 days notice to elect members for the following year.
  9. The Great Linford Waterside Festival Committee is a non-profit group.  Profit made in any year is carried forward for the benefit of the festival in future years.  The festival will seek to indirectly support charities by creating an infrastructure to allow them to raise their own funds.
  10. If for some reason the Committee and festival are to cease then surplus funds after winding up will be distributed to other local festival committees as nominated and voted on by Great Linford Waterside Festival Committee.

Great Linford Waterside Festival Committee Aims and Objectives

Aim

To stage a free open-air event in Great Linford which celebrates a sense of community, local heritage and the environment.

Objectives

Create an event which will appeal to a range of ages and cultures through:

  • Music
  • Creative activities
  • Dance
  • Sport
  • Food and drink
  • Encourage participation and involvement from all sections of the community
  • Local residents
  • Schools
  • Youth groups
  • Community groups
  • Local agencies
